This role requires working in a CT unit at a teaching facility, collaborating closely with the Radiology Tech to support patient exams. The Medical Assistant will work every weekend, handling various tasks essential to the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant

• Assist the Radiology Tech with clerical, non-technical, and non-exposure aspects of patient exams
• Manage workflow and assist the tech, radiology nurse, and radiologist
• Answer phones and stock rooms
• Aid patients to and from exam rooms and department
• Perform scheduling and processing of exams
• Prepare for regulatory and hospital audits
• Utilize department computer systems efficiently
• Start IVs in some modalities

Requirements of the Medical Assistant

• Experience in a similar-sized teaching facility
• Proficiency in starting IVs in some modalities
• BLS Certification
• EPIC experience from within the past 2 years
