The role involves assisting providers in the management and treatment of customers from various backgrounds and age groups. The focus is on collaborative, supportive, and delegated tasks as outlined in the Medical Assistant scope of practice. Delegable tasks and competencies are specific to the role of the Supervising Nurse and Supervising Provider. The Medical Assistant will receive direction and collaborate with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers. Effective communication with the healthcare team regarding progress, concerns, questions, or issues is essential. The role includes performing both clinical and clerical tasks to assist with customer management throughout the clinic. Tasks may include standard rooming processes, giving immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed by the provider. Laboratory specimen collection may also be required as needed.
