Travel Medical Assistant (MA) in Peterborough, NH

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Profession: Certified Medical Assistant Specialty: Clinic Duration: Full-time Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting. License: Must maintain certification as a Medical Assistant. Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA) Must-Have: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant curriculum with at least 2 years of training. Description: The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical support procedures under the direct supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician. This job description does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and perform additional duties as requested by their supervisor. The Certified Medical Assistant should reflect, through personal appearance and attitudes, the professional nature of the office. Cleanliness, neatness, the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner, a caring nature, and a genuine enjoyment of patients are required personal qualities of this position. Because of the nature of the work, emotional stability is also required. Must be aware of the need for discretion and confidentiality regarding all matters relating to the practice, its employees, and patients. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures pertinent to the practice and within the scope of MA certification. Assists the physician in examinations, which may include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Keeps rooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Takes and returns patient phone calls as directed by the physician. Gives instructions to patients as instructed by the physician. Requisitions supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock. Assists with the maintenance of medical records, including the completion of referral forms, lab slips, and other pertinent documentation as requested by the physician. Assists patients in getting to and from exam rooms and preparing for exams as requested. Assists with any nursing procedure as directed by the physician. Assists in other areas as requested by the Manager and/or Clinical Coordinator, operating within the guidelines of MA certification. Must work as a member of a team and be flexible.
