Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring 3 years of ICU experience and a Level 1 trauma center background.

Details

• Medical ICU setting with 30 beds in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, alcohol/substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy
• Fast-paced unit utilizing ventilators and central lines (dips)
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is generally not approved

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments
• Experience managing critical, fast-paced situations required
• Background in high-volume hospitals with diverse and severe cases required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
