The role involves providing specialized patient care within the ICU / Critical Care Unit (CCU) environment, supporting patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced interventions.
Job Details
Position Description: RN-ICU for a 13-week assignment in a Level 1 Trauma Center, focused on critical care of patients in ICU / CCU units.
Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required. Minimum 2 years of hospital experience and 2+ years of ICU / CCU experience are preferred. Experience with Meditech electronic documentation system, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), and TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse) is highly desirable.
Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts of 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: The unit has a 36-bed capacity in the CCU as well as a Burn Trauma ICU with 30 beds. The patient ratio is 2:1, and the unit is staff by supervisors on each shift and PCTs (Patient Care Technicians). Procedures include central line insertions, arterial line insertions, bedside tracheostomies, thoracotomies, and chest tube insertions. Scrub attire is royal blue, and policies about personal appearance and body art are strictly enforced. No minimum experience beyond 0 years requirement.
