Experience in blood bank procedures is essential, including ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen and ID, AHG Crossmatch, and Direct Coombs. Familiarity with microbiology, specifically wet prep for WBC, yeast, and Trichomonas, is necessary. Chemistry skills needed include acetone analysis and arterial blood gas testing. Knowledge in cardiac enzymes, immunoassay, and therapeutic drug monitoring is required. Experience in hematology and coagulation is crucial, including the ability to perform automated instruments and manual differentials. Expertise in urinalysis, both manual and with analyzers, is essential. A commitment to excellent patient care and teamwork within the department is expected.
