Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $1,270 per week in Charleston, SC

Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Technology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Appropriate state licensure required Certifications: Certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized authority Must-Have: - Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline - Experience in Chemistry is required - Experience in Hematology is highly preferred Description: The Medical Technologist position involves supporting high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include preparing specimens for testing and performing routine laboratory tests. The role also covers specialized laboratory tests, quality control, and troubleshooting quality control errors. Maintaining laboratory instruments and performing preventative maintenance are essential duties. The Medical Technologist will communicate technical information effectively to medical and laypersons. Training laboratory personnel in routine procedures and participating in continuing education is expected. Recognizing normal and abnormal values while modeling standards of behavior in daily interactions is important. Availability to work every other weekend and during holidays is required. This position does not require on-call duties. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
