Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $1,705 per week in Charleston, SC

Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Technology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Required Certifications: Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline. Must-Have: Certification as a Medical Technician by a recognized body or equivalent. Experience in Chemistry required. Description: The Medical Technologist supports high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. This role involves preparing specimens for testing and performing routine and specialized laboratory tests. Quality control and troubleshooting quality control errors are essential responsibilities. Maintenance procedures and recognizing computer data problems must be efficiently managed. Troubleshooting laboratory instruments and performing preventative maintenance are required. Technical information must be communicated effectively to both medical and non-medical personnel. Assisting with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures will be part of this position. Participation in continuing education is expected to maintain professional standards. The technologist will recognize normal and abnormal laboratory values. Models the Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities. Weekend and holiday rotations are required, as well as the ability to work two full weekends in a row, followed by four weekends off. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this poses a problem, please ensure that no new assignments are confirmed during the season. The hurricane season runs from June through November each year, with peak activity in August and September.
