Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $1,949 per week in Chapel Hill, NC

Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Medical Tech Specialty: Microbiology Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Preferred: No experience required. License: Must meet eligibility requirements upon hire to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire. Must obtain certification within one year of becoming exam eligible. Certifications: N/A Must-Have: Experience in Gram stain and specimen plating for microbiology. Description: Performs a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of clinical activities. Investigates problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow. May participate on teams or perform special projects and assignments. May perform teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students and training of new employees. May serve as a technical resource. Performs quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory. Performs routine and less standardized test procedures including special chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic laboratory tests. Observes tests and reactions and provides data. Prepares specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required. Reports results to healthcare providers. Consults with healthcare providers regarding test results. Reviews test results to ensure accuracy of reports and timely correction of errors.
