Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $2,102 per week in Madison, WI

Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Microbiology Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night and Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital laboratory required. License: Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology required. Certifications: ASCP MT or MLS required. Must-Have: High skillset in all microbiology areas per skills checklist. Ability to read complex cultures with minimal training. Experience working almost exclusively in microbiology. Description: This position involves evening 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to midnight. Weekend rotation is required at a ratio of 1:4, with possible shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Applicant must possess at least 2 years of experience in a hospital laboratory. Strong proficiency in microbiology areas is essential. Candidates should be comfortable reading complex cultures with minimal training. Responsibilities include accessioning, aerobic culture, culture plating, cytospin, and Gram stain processes. Experience in hospital clinical laboratories and microbiology culture reading is required. Familiarity with organism identification, aerobic, anaerobic, PCR testing, and reporting test results is necessary. Additional skills required include sensitives, specimen receipt, plate setup, and rapid testing kits. Candidates must demonstrate strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
