Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $2,226 per week in Clinton, IL

Job Title: Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Primarily days, with rotating weekends and potential for occasional on-call hours Hours per Shift: 40 hours guaranteed Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Degree in Medical Technology/Lab Science or a related biological science Certifications: ASCP certified as an MLT or MT/MLS Must-Have: Experience in phlebotomy is a must Description: Proficiently performs a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests and procedures, following established policies and procedures of the laboratory. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide laboratory services appropriate to the age of the patients served, including newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric. Basic computer knowledge is required. Ability to perform mathematical calculations is essential. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions is necessary. Good interpersonal skills are vital, along with the ability to use sound judgment to ensure the quality of patient care. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Reading and comprehension skills are essential. Experience with Meditech is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. or more and follow proper body mechanics as related to the job. Holiday coverage is required.
