Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $2,532 per week in Orange, CA

Job Title: Clinical Lab Scientist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Blood Bank Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years License: Valid state license required Certifications: ASCP-BB preferred Must-Have: - Recent blood bank experience within the last 2 years - Experience working in a Level I trauma facility - Experience in a large hospital with over 300 beds - Proficiency with blood bank software - Experience with Epic electronic health record system Description: Looking for a Clinical Lab Scientist with a specialty in Blood Bank. The position requires working independently during night shifts. Responsibilities include processing and analyzing blood samples. Candidates will be expected to handle high volume type/screen and crossmatch. Must be able to work with confidence and manage workload effectively. Weekends may be required to accommodate unit needs. Request for time off must be included upfront during application. Candidates should have experience in a fast-paced clinical lab environment. Knowledge of various blood banking procedures is necessary. Additional experience with Wellsky and Immucor instrumentation is preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their expertise in patient identification, specimen collection, and reporting test results. This position requires strong attention to detail and adherence to quality assurance protocols. A commitment to working three of the five major holidays each year is expected. References from past employment covering a minimum of one year will be required prior to start. Travelers may need to float between facilities as necessary. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Candidates must be prepared for a busy workload, handling up to 50 samples daily. Experience in blood specimen storage, crossmatch procedures, and transfusion reactions is essential.
