Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $2,549 per week in Orange, CA

Job Title: Clinical Lab Scientist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Blood Bank Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ASCP-BB Preferred Description: Start time is 21:30, but may flex to 20:00 as needed. Daytime interview availability in Pacific Time is required at the time of application. Two years of experience in Blood Bank is necessary. Seasoned traveler in Blood Bank is required. Experience with Epic software is essential. Blood Bank experience must be current and within the last two years. Travel experience in Trauma Level I or II facilities is required, with a preference for teaching hospitals. Experience with blood bank software, such as Wellsky and Immucor instrumentation, is preferred. Candidates must have worked in a large hospital with over 300 beds. You will see 30-50 samples a day with high volume type/screen and crossmatch. The clinician must work fully independently at night. Weekend coverage is required, which may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Requests for time off due to outside employment will not be considered. Candidates must commit to working on rotating weekends and holidays. RTO requests must be included upon application submission. The facility may call off one time per two-week pay period. Two references covering one year of experience within the last three years are required. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities if necessary. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination. Communication devices will be provided, and providers may need to submit monthly bills for reimbursement if they are not provided. No direct contact with facility staff, except for agreed-upon interviews, is permitted.
