    Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist II Profession: Medical Laboratory Scientist Specialty: Transfusion Medicine Service Duration: Full-time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: - If Associate Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Lab Technician, Chemical Science or Biological Science with MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) two (2) years of experience. - If Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science with ASCP categorical certification in specialty area, two (2) years of experience. - If Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Lab Science with MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification, no experience required. License: - If Associate Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Lab Technician, Chemical Science or Biological Science, MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification required. - If Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science, ASCP categorical certification in specialty area required. - If Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Lab Science, MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification required. Must-Have: - Laboratory testing. - Problem solving. - Equipment maintenance. - Specimen handling. - Workflow management. Description: Perform a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of clinical activities. Demonstrate advanced level competencies in producing accurate laboratory test results, including all levels of CLIA-outlined testing and problem solving. Maintain and investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow. Demonstrate laboratory knowledge and skills while working independently. Evaluate laboratory testing requests for appropriateness and apply critical decision-making skills to determine diagnostic testing needs. Participate on teams and perform special projects and assignments. Serve as a technical resource. Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and monitor accuracy and precision of laboratory testing. Prepare reagents and assist in the preparation of standard and control materials. Monitor reagent levels and assist in maintaining supplies. Participate in teaching various types of learners and training new employees. Perform other duties as assigned.
