Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Rehabilitation Unit night shift position requiring CT or compact RN licensure and 1-2 years of experience.

Details

• Long Term Acute Care setting on the Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU/CMU)
• Medically complex rehabilitation population including LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and vent patients
• Cardiac monitoring required for patient population
• Patient ratios: Day/Evening 1:7, Night 1:9
• 12-hour night shift schedule with option for 3x12s or 5x8s
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to sister units MRU and CMU required, with possible floating to additional units for 12-hour shift staff
• Travelers on 3x12 schedules float after 8 hours

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory or ventilated patients strongly preferred
• Skilled in IV starts, drip and blood administration, EKGs, med titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements
• Willing to obtain flu vaccination or provide medical declination

Additional Information

• Nurses do not manage ventilators, as respiratory therapists handle vent care
• Care setting is medical in nature rather than traditional Med/Surg
• Orientation held every Monday
• Personal or religious flu vaccine declinations are not accepted
