Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU/CMU) position at a long-term acute care facility, requiring 1-2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Long-term acute care setting on the Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU) and sister unit CMU
• Medically complex rehabilitation environment with cardiac monitoring
• Patient population includes LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and ventilator patients
• Patient ratios are 1:7 day/evening and 1:9 nights
• 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Will consider 3x12 or 5x8 schedules
• Every other weekend required
• Floats between MRU and CMU, with possible floating to additional units if working 12-hour shifts
• Travelers on 3x12 schedules will float after 8 hours

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory/vented patients strongly preferred
• Willing to obtain flu vaccination or provide medical declination (personal or religious declinations not accepted)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include IV starts, drip administration, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, and glucose monitoring
• Performs wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, and wound measurements
• Provides trach care, suctioning, straight catheterization, foley care, port access, and central line dressing changes
• RNs are not responsible for managing ventilators, as this is handled by respiratory therapists
• Orientation occurs every Monday
• Accepts local candidates
