Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Rehabilitation Unit position requiring 1-2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU) and sister unit CMU providing Medically Complex Rehabilitation care
• Patient population includes LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wound care, CAPD, and ventilator patients within a medical (non-traditional Med/Surg) environment
• Patient ratios are 1:7 for day/evening shifts and 1:9 for night shifts
• Will consider either 3x12 or 5x8 schedules with every other weekend required
• Travelers on 12-hour shifts will float after 8 hours and may float to additional units
• Nurses are responsible for IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements
• Ventilator management is handled by respiratory therapists, not nursing staff

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with respiratory or ventilated patients strongly preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Willingness to obtain a flu vaccination or provide a medical declination (personal or religious declinations not accepted)
