Travel Medical Social Worker - $2,293 per week in Anchorage, AK

Job Title: Licensed Masters of Social Worker (LMSW) Profession: Social Services Specialty: LMSW Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required License: LMSW required; candidates without a license may apply for a temporary license Certifications: LMSW Must-Have: Acute care experience Description: Candidates should have an LMSW license, but those without a license may apply for a temporary license. It is required that candidates apply for an LMSW temporary license. Acute care experience is mandatory for this position. Assignment length is either 13 or 26 weeks. Shifts will be 5x8 hours or 4x10 hours. First-time travelers are not accepted. Candidates will be required to work weekends, every other weekend. Travelers may be called off for one 18-hour shift every two weeks. The role involves providing psychosocial/emotional support to patients and families. Social work is a consult-based service and clinicians will complete psychosocial assessments. Clinicians will identify discharge plans aligned with policy and regulations from a person-centered approach. Social work clinicians will provide brief clinical interventions as appropriate. They will assist with resource navigation and care coordination. Screening for suicidality and engaging in safety planning as appropriate is part of the role. Clinicians will coordinate with outside entities and complete reports of harm as per state statutes. The social work team consists of Emergency Department, Children's, and Adult teams. The role requires close collaboration with RN case managers and the care team for safe and ethical discharge planning. Candidates must hold a master's degree in social work from a CWSE-accredited institution. A valid state license is required. Returning staff may not be accepted within three months. Travelers may float to sister facilities if necessary. A failure to comply with floating requirements may result in termination of the assignment. Time off requests will be considered on an individual basis upon the offer. All requests for time off must be included in the initial application.
