This position requires acute care experience. Assignment length is either 13 or 26 weeks. Shifts are typically 5 x 8s or 4 x 10s. The role involves providing psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families. Social work is a consult-based service. Clinicians complete psychosocial assessments and identify appropriate discharge plans from a person-centered approach. Clinicians work in alignment with policy and regulations. They provide brief clinical interventions as appropriate and assist with resource navigation and coordination of care. The position entails screening for suicidality and engaging in safety planning as necessary. Clinicians are responsible for completing appropriate reports of harm based on state statutes and coordinating with outside entities. The scope of social work is divided into teams catering to different patient populations, including pediatric and adult teams. Clinicians work collaboratively with RN Case Managers and care teams to coordinate safe and ethical discharge plans. A master's degree in social work from an accredited school is required. Candidates must have a valid LMSW license or apply for a temporary license.
