Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float position requiring 2 years of experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical Float unit (6 South) of a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45 to 7:15
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units, including a resource pool covering 5 Med/Surg and 4 Telemetry units
• No on-call responsibilities mentioned

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or compact) currently in hand or pending, with proof of application prior to start
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Medical Surgical float pool, floating between multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Staff RNs previously employed at the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of submittal
• Pre-start online learning modules are required and average 2 hours to complete
