Job Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• At least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a large hospital setting (450+ beds)
• Strong Med/Surg clinical background with the ability to manage a broad patient population
• Comfortable using Epic, standard hospital equipment, and clinical workflows
• Ability to work a 12-hour night schedule and participate in weekend coverage

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality general medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting
• Perform patient assessments, develop and update care plans, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Care for patients with conditions such as COPD, diabetes, CHF, ESRD, infections, stroke, dementia, and post-procedure needs
• Support patients undergoing procedures including colonoscopies, thoracentesis/paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries
• Manage common Med/Surg interventions such as IV therapy, heparin and insulin drips, feeding tubes, wound vacs, and telemetry monitoring
• Utilize Epic, IV pumps, blood glucose monitoring tools, SCDs, and other unit equipment safely and effectively
• Float to other medical units based on staffing and patient care needs
• Deliver compassionate, team-oriented care in a fast-paced hospital environment
