Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) position requiring 3+ years of current MICU experience and ventilator management skills.

Details

• Work in the Special Care Unit/PCU of a critical access hospital
• MICU setting focused on internal medicine and non-surgical critical illnesses
• Patient population includes severe infections, acute respiratory failure, diabetic emergencies, poisonings, and organ dysfunction
• Utilizes ventilators and continuous drug infusions such as vasopressors
• EMR used is Epic
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of current MICU experience required
• Current ventilator experience required
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Medical Surgical skills checklist (within 1 year) required
• Stepdown/PCU skills checklist (within 1 year) required
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex internal medical conditions requiring ventilator and vasopressor management
• Candidates must have their own vehicle for this assignment
• No on-call requirements for this position
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
• Must work two designated holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted, and all time off requests must be submitted prior to consideration
