Job Summary Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse Night Shifts Remote Location. This hospital-based unit provides care for a diverse patient population, including those undergoing active cancer treatment, post-surgical oncology cases, and patients with complex medical-surgical needs. The role involves coordinating and delivering patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process within a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details
Position Description: Reporting to the Nurse Manager or Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for patient care in a hospital environment, utilizing established nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
Unit Description: A 37-bed Medical Surgical unit serving oncology and general medical-surgical patients, including Bariatric Center of Excellence, with an ideal patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1.
Required Qualifications: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or a compact state; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; 0 years of experience.
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Additional Information: The role involves administering patient care under physician supervision, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, assessing patient needs, documenting care, and promoting a safe hospital environment. Competency in required skills must be maintained annually.
Certifications: BLS required; some units may require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to clinical care, with training provided if needed.
