Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• ONS certification preferred if administering chemotherapy
• No first-time travelers
• Must be comfortable working in an oncology / medical-surgical environment
• Must be within a 75-mile radius of the driver’s license address to the facility at time of submission

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality oncology nursing care and medical-surgical support to patients
• Care for patients with acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology concerns, and end-of-life needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, efficient patient flow and positive outcomes
• Monitor patient status, respond to changing clinical needs, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Meditech electronic medical record (EMR)
• Support treatment completion for patients transitioning from outpatient care when needed
• Participate in rotating holidays and every-other-weekend scheduling
• Deliver attentive bedside care while contributing to a supportive, team-oriented unit culture
