Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN with 2+ years of Med/Surg/Tele experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit of a hospital environment
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 scheduling options available
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to other units required as needed
• Travelers do not administer chemotherapy
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and nasal cannula/oral suctioning required
• Experience with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, wound care/wound vac, heparin, insulin, and PCA administration preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Oncology unit, excluding chemotherapy administration
• Contract nursing staff are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• Must live 100+ miles from the facility to be considered for this position
