Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology Telemetry RN for night shifts, requiring 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on the Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• 233 staffed beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday rotation)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within service line
• Navy scrub color required

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, Nursys
• Fire safety certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills: accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, PCA medication management
• Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to Medical Surgical Oncology patients including telemetry monitoring
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Additional RTO beyond 7 days requires manager approval
• Standard travelers residing outside the 75-mile radius may work up to 18 months before a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• 13-week contract length is firm
