Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Tele unit position requiring 2 years of experience and EPIC charting proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit of an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
• Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope and service line to meet facility needs
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS, NIHSS certifications required
• Fire safety certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, accessing and maintaining ports, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Oncology experience including administration and monitoring of chemotherapy preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with PCA medication administration preferred

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Respond to rapid response and code team situations as needed
• Navy scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
• Additional RTO beyond 7 days requires manager approval
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
