Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse position is located in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for oncology patients in a dedicated medical-surgical setting. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered care, utilizing the latest procedures and technology to support patient recovery and wellbeing.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Chemo Certification by ONS provider; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Up to 1 year of nursing experience; Tennessee nursing license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in oncology or medical-surgical nursing; familiarity with MediTech Expanse documentation system; proficiency in sterile technique for port access and peripheral venipuncture; ability to draw labs via central venous catheter or peripheral veins.
  • Float: Float to TCT Infusion (department 716) may be required, with orientation to that department beforehand.
  • Additional Information: The unit has no unit secretaries or tech staff available; utilizes Alaris Pumps for medication administration; patient ratio is 4:1 chairs at a time; staff may perform procedures such as port access and IV hydration. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of chemotherapy procedures and ability to work independently within established policies and guidelines.
