Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position located in Kaunakakai, Hawaii. This role involves providing perioperative care in a specialized surgical environment within a critical access hospital setting. The OR nurse will be responsible for assisting with surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and complying with all clinical protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active/unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BLS (HCP) and Chemotherapy certification necessary; at least 1 year of experience as an OR nurse with inpatient chemotherapy administration experience; graduate of an accredited nursing program; willingness to apply for license if pending certification; local Hawaii candidates encouraged to apply
  • Preferred Qualifications: Strong perioperative nursing background with ambulatory and oncology experience; chemotherapy certification; previous travel or Queens Health System experience preferred
  • Additional Information: The selected candidate should be comfortable mixing IV medications and performing dose calculations. The position requires adherence to compliance deadlines, with all elements of documentation due at least 10 days prior to the start date to avoid delays or cancellation. If not needed as an RN on their primary unit, the nurse may be assigned to a nursing assistant or safety sitter role.
