Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift assignment requiring NJ or compact RN license and 2 years of oncology experience.

Details

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units required, including Ridgewood Observation Unit if assigned to Paramus or the Float Pool
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license
• 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology experience required (candidates with less than 2 years must have strong oncology background)
• BLS certification required to start
• Prior travel nursing experience required with no prior clinical or professional cancellations
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80%, no retakes permitted
• Proficiency in systematic EKG rhythm interpretation, heart rate calculations, and identification of atrial, ventricular, junctional, paced rhythms, and heart blocks
• Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, accessing and managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series and booster required
• One supervisory/manager reference dated within one year of assignment start required
• Current Nursys verification required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to inpatient oncology population
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
• Candidates with NJ work history in the past 7 years must provide verifiable employer details for compliance review
• Required lab work must begin within two business days of offer acceptance
• Pre-start and annual training modules required as part of orientation
