Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with Med/Surg/Tele experience for a 13-week assignment requiring a compact or TN RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit setting with 1:7 patient ratios
• Day shift, 4x12 hours (6:30 AM-7:00 PM)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units when needed
• Travelers do not administer chemotherapy

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA is the only accepted form)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Med/Surg/Tele experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Additional preferred skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin/insulin/PCA administration, and nasal cannula/oral suctioning

Additional Information

• Contract RN team members participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 hours
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit-testing guidelines
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
