Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Tele unit position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit in an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday for day shift)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within service line and scope to meet facility needs
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Nursys verification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, isolation precautions/PPE
• Oncology experience including administration and monitoring of chemotherapy preferred
• Experience accessing/managing ports and PCA medication administration preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible for this position
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Assignment length may extend to 18 months total, requiring a 3-month break in service thereafter
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
