Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Orthopedic Nurse is being sought in Plano, Texas. This role involves working on an orthopedic trauma unit within a healthcare organization, providing specialized patient care for polytrauma patients, trauma, and orthopedic cases. The position focuses on delivering high-quality nursing support during night shifts, with responsibilities aligned to the unit's clinical needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, 1 year medical-surgical experience, BLS certification, willingness to work nights, and ability to start on 08/17/2026
  • Preferred Qualifications: Orthopedic and/or trauma patient experience, familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records, experience with polytrauma, cervical fractures, downgraded TBI, drains management, and medication drips such as Heparin and Protonix
  • Additional Information: This role involves working on a unit with 36 beds, staffed with a team of registered nurses and certified nursing assistants. The unit cares for trauma and orthopedic patients, including those with non-surgical cervical fractures, minor TBIs, burns, and requiring various drips. Candidates should be team players and adhere to the unit's dress code of royal blue scrubs. Tardiness policies are governed by hospital policy, with onsite huddles scheduled at 0645 and 1845.
