Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing postoperative orthopedic, trauma, and general medical-surgical care in a 43-bed acute care unit with private rooms. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, adhering to established clinical standards and protocols.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/17/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS (American Heart Association) certification; 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical or orthopedic care; local address within 50 miles for applicable pay policies; active employment status in healthcare.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postoperative surgical care and trauma cases.
  • Duties: Provide comprehensive postoperative surgical and medical-surgical care, including troubleshooting telemonitors, managing respiratory equipment such as CPAP and heated high-flow devices, and working within a team that includes charge RNs and nurse assistants.
  • Floats: Travel RNs are the first to float, occasionally to other medical-surgical floors.
  • Dress Code: Any color of scrubs with a professional appearance; tattoos and piercings covered as per dress code.
  • Orientation: Department-specific orientation conducted over two days.
  • Other Notes: No call or standby requirements. Weekend schedule includes every other weekend day shift and Friday/Saturday night shifts.
