- Charting System: MEDITECH
- Orientation: 3 shifts
- Floating: May float to Med/Surg as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, including 1 travel assignment
- Current BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- ACLS is highly recommended
- Experience in Med/Surg, observation, telemetry, or acute care nursing preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-turnover observation unit
- Ability to work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff
- Willingness to float to Med/Surg when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to observation and Med/Surg patients with varying medical needs
- Monitor telemetry patients and collaborate with central monitoring support
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and support safe treatment plans
- Manage heparin infusions and other routine clinical interventions as assigned
- Complete EKGs and draw labs as part of unit workflow
- Partner with the charge nurse, CNAs, and interdisciplinary healthcare team to support efficient patient flow
- Support admissions, discharges, and unit throughput in a busy observation setting
- Deliver organized, compassionate care while maintaining strong documentation in MEDITECH
