Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-Hour Shifts) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a population that includes post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
  • Perform and manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, NG/PEG tube management, straight cath/Foley insertion, ostomy care, Heparin drip administration, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
  • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4–5 during day shifts and exercise strong assessment and critical thinking skills throughout each shift
  • Float within skillset to a sister campus location as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments
  • Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements, including three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday
  • May be required to precept nursing students and new hires as this is a teaching facility

Required Qualifications

  • Current, active Compact RN License
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of strong Medical-Surgical nursing experience
  • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with remote telemetry, complex wound care, and high-acuity Med-Surg patient management
  • Strong adaptability and resilience with the ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, team-oriented communication style with strong interpersonal skills
