Travel RN – Med-Surg/Telemetry | 13-Week Contract
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Med-Surg/Telemetry
Shift: 12-hour Days/Nights (facility scheduling)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg RN experience
- First-time travelers welcome
- Active RN License
- BLS Certification required
Unit Highlights
- 48-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Common patient population:
- Pneumonia
- UTI
- Altered Mental Status (AMS)
- GI Bleeds
- Alcohol Withdrawal
- Falls/Weakness
- Experience with titratable drips:
- Heparin
- Bumex
- Lasix
- (No cardiac drip titration required)
Unit Details
- PCT/CNA support available (typically 1:10–12 ratio)
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 to manage BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Oxygen, and breathing treatments
- Central telemetry monitoring by monitor technicians (RNs are not required to interpret telemetry strips)
- No call required
- Every other weekend rotation
- Holiday rotation as needed
- Travelers may float to other Med-Surg, Med-Surg/Telemetry, or IMC units for lower-acuity patients
- Navy blue scrubs for RNs
Scheduling & Orientation
- Manager-created schedule (no self or block scheduling)
- Travelers are expected to be flexible with scheduling
- Orientation includes:
- 1 day of educator/computer system training
- 1 day with a preceptor
Submission Requirements
- 50-mile radius rule applies
- Unexpired driver's license is required with submission
- Any licensing or background hits must be disclosed at the time of submission
