Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor nurse located at the healthcare facility will provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from significant medical events or illnesses. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans and assist patients in regaining their highest level of independence and functionality. The position emphasizes family involvement and the use of advanced rehabilitation technologies to ensure high standards of patient safety, dignity, and respect.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid state or compact license, two (2) years of experience, certifications in ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, experience with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, colostomy/ileostomy care, CVA, feeding tube care, heparin, insulin, PPE/use of isolation precautions, Med/Surg, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, ortho trauma, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, post-cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis, neurosurgery, renal failure, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, total joint replacement, tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injury, rapid response/code teams, wound care/vac.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, LTAC experience, trauma level II experience, travel experience preferred
• Float: May float to long-term acute care or other units in the hospital to manage medical-surgical patients
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for patients with diagnoses such as CVA, orthopedics, brain injuries, and other rehabilitation needs. The facility is equipped with fully equipped therapy rooms and gyms, advanced rehabilitative technology, and supports family involvement and education. The interdisciplinary team collaborates to develop personalized care plans and prioritize patient safety, dignity, and respect.
