Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701
Start Date: August 25, 2026
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00), patient ratio 1:6, 91-day assignment
Highlights:
- 19-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related conditions
- Patient population ranges from young adults through geriatric patients requiring medical-surgical level monitoring and interventions
- Primary diagnoses include acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical conditions
- Unit equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Epic charting system with 16 hours of orientation provided
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
- Skills required include telemetry monitoring, IV management, central line care, blood product administration, wound care, and neurological assessment
- Must complete core compliance items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- Geographic restrictions apply to certain local counties
