Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Harvey, Illinois, in the Chicago metropolitan area
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Assignment Dates: October 19, 2026 – January 18, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,470–$1,550
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
• Charting System: Epic
• Floating: Required as needed to support patient care
• Orientation: Facility orientation and required learning modules are completed at the start of the assignment

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand
• At least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Recent inpatient nursing experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Demonstrated knowledge of telemetry, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Clinical proficiency in tracheostomy care and management
• Epic charting experience preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to work day shifts, every other weekend, and float when needed
• Travel nurses and qualified local candidates are welcome to apply

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
• Monitor telemetry and recognize, interpret, and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
• Perform tracheostomy care and management, coordinating with respiratory services when appropriate
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary partners, including physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Promote patient safety, effective communication, patient education, and continuity of care
• Float to other appropriate units as requested to support inpatient care needs
