Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position in a short-term acute care facility located in a healthcare provider setting. The role involves providing patient care on a busy general surgery and trauma unit, with opportunities for float between units and participation in a newly opening specialty unit. The position requires a commitment to scheduled shifts and providing quality care for adult and geriatric patients.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 and ending on 01/04/2027
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license with a minimum of 1 year of experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, experience with Med Surg, trauma, and emergency general surgery; experience with charting using Epic; valid state license or compact license in hand; ability to float between units
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Bariatric surgery, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Chest tubes, Central line blood draw, Colostomy/ileostomy care, Feeding tube care, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Insulin management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Orthopedic trauma, Oxygen administration, PCA, Peripheral line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Post-op neurosurgery and thoracic surgery, Post-op stay units, Tracheostomy care, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Electronic Medical Record systems such as Epic.
• Additional Information: The role includes supporting a newly opening acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit. Will require working scheduled holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with all schedule requests to be specified upfront. Candidates are expected to have at least one year of clinical experience in a similar setting, with references covering the past three years. Float between nearby facilities may be required, and refusal to float may result in contract termination.
• Travel & Compliance: Must have at least 1 year of experience, valid state license or compact license, and be within a 50-mile radius of the facility. Candidates must respond to employment history questions regarding past work at similar facilities and provide two recent references.
