Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: October 20, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Patient ratio of 1:6. Contract duration of 91 days with weekend coverage required for approximately half of the contract.

Highlights:

• 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related conditions
• Patient population includes acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical diagnoses
• Equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring for comprehensive patient assessment
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on neurological assessment, stroke recovery, and functional outcomes
• Epic charting system with 16 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state or compact license must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV management, blood product administration, and neurological assessment
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
