Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 inner-city trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Position is on the Surgery Trauma unit (6A) of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio is 5:1
• Unit support includes nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary during night shifts
• Nurse handoff is conducted between the ED nurse and the admitting unit nurse upon patient admission
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Block scheduling is not available — travelers must be flexible with assigned shifts
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR is required

Requirements

• Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg specialty experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Background managing critical, fast-paced, and complex trauma cases required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required

• This facility is a high-volume, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• No RTO (requested time off) will be approved for this assignment
