Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical (9 West) unit position with telemetry capability and NIH Stroke Scale certification required.

Details

  • Work in a 28-bed Medical/Surgical unit with Neuro/Stroke specialty focus, serving adult patients
  • Telemetry capability available on the unit, with monitor techs dedicated to telemetry monitoring
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Unit is supported by PCTs and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator
  • Virtual sitter monitoring is available
  • Night shift schedule: 18:30–07:00
  • Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
  • Holiday coverage required based on department needs

Requirements

  • Active OK RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and a US home address
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, and communicate patient condition appropriately
  • Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment are essential
  • Must adhere to Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
