Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a General Surgical unit position requiring 2 years of experience and OK or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work on a 28-bed general surgical unit serving adult patients
• Unit has telemetry capability with monitor techs available to support telemetry patients
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator
• Virtual sitter monitoring available
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• 13-week assignment
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if department has a need

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide full SSN and DOB for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two separate references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
