Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and comfort working with a forensic/prison patient population.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio goal of 4:1, up to 6:1
• Float required to other Med/Surg and Tele units, including forensics and inpatient units
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Must be comfortable working with the prison/forensic patient population

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including wound care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
• Skills such as tracheostomy care, PCA management, and telemetry monitoring are preferred
• Holiday rotation required, with staff expected to work 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on assigned holiday group
• Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged for holiday coverage when possible
• RTO requests for the listed holidays will not be approved for contracts beginning in September
• Local candidates and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
