Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 13-week assignment length
• Meditech charting system experience strongly preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana State or Compact) required in-hand prior to start, pending license accepted with submission
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or RN-BC, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Wound care and wound vac experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg, MS/Tele, orthopedics, and short-stay unit settings
• Care for patients with a range of conditions including GI, respiratory, genitourinary/renal, neurological, and endocrine/metabolic needs
• Manage medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA administration
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as required
• Strong teamwork, self-direction, and time management skills required in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills required
• Completion of facility training modules required prior to start and annually for clearance
