Job Summary: Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) on the inpatient floor in a healthcare facility located in St. Louis, Missouri. The position involves providing direct patient care utilizing the nursing process across all age groups, with an emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and adherence to safety standards.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 1900-0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Current RN license (meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri), BLS certification from the American Heart Association, 1 year of inpatient Med Surg (Medical Surgical Floor) experience.
Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Float: Float rotation may be required to a similar or lower acuity unit as needed.
Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided. Responsibilities include monitoring, coordinating patient care activities with ancillary departments, and ensuring compliance with facility standards and professional nursing practices. The position involves working with various medical equipment, including bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs. The unit has approximately 60 beds with patient ratios of 1:5/6. Night orientation is scheduled during day shift, and travelers must be available for the entire week of orientation.
