Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity in Wilmington, NC. Join a fast-paced adult med/surg team supporting ortho trauma and general surgery patients in a dynamic coastal North Carolina healthcare setting.

- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3x12 night shifts
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to similar medical-surgical units and nearby inpatient holding areas as needed
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660-$1,750
- Orientation: Comprehensive unit and organizational orientation provided
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience within the last 5 years
- Active Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience caring for patients with orthopedic trauma, surgical, and neuro-related needs
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Ability to support heparin drips, PCA therapy, wound care, chest tubes, central line care, and feeding tube management
- Experience with dysrhythmia management and telemetry nursing preferred
- Open to floating within and near the facility as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- NC or Compact RN license pending is acceptable for submission
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from orthopedic trauma, neuro trauma, and general surgery procedures
- Administer medications and therapies, including heparin infusions and PCA support
- Perform and assist with wound care, chest tube management, central line care, and IV therapy
- Support patients with tracheostomy care, feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic electronic health record (EHR)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support safe, efficient patient care
- Maintain a calm, adaptable approach in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
