• Job Title: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN)
• Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
• Setting: Medical-Surgical / Ortho Trauma / General Surgery
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours standard; 48 hours accepted
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Similar units and inpatient holding areas as needed
• Orientation: 28 hours total
• Charting System: Epic
• Unit Type: Adult acute care with orthopedic trauma, neuro trauma, and surgical overflow

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience within the last 5 years
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; NC or compact license pending may be considered for submission
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to work comfortably with patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Experience with Epic charting preferred and highly valued
• Must be comfortable floating to similar units and inpatient holding areas
• Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for adult Med/Surg patients with orthopedic trauma, surgical, and neuro-related conditions
• Monitor and manage complex treatments including heparin drips, central lines, chest tubes, and wound care
• Perform and support PCA care, feeding tube management, and blood product administration
• Manage peripheral IVs, PICC lines, phlebotomy, and IV starts with confidence
• Care for patients requiring dysrhythmia monitoring, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support safe, efficient patient care
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
• Maintain a calm, solution-focused approach in a busy acute care environment
